Tehran does not necessarily need to defeat Israel in a decisive battle.
It only needs the war to continue.
If the conflict drags on long enough, the cumulative pressure may gradually erode Israel’s military capacity, economic stability, and internal cohesion.
For Iran, time can function as an ally.
For Israel and the United States, the opposite may be true.
If they cannot break Iran’s ability to sustain pressure quickly, then time itself becomes the strategic battlefield.
Wars of attrition rarely favor the side that depends on rapid victory.
They favor the side that can wait.
