Israel Owns US Congress, But the Deeper Sickness Is Imperial Hubris
Lawrence Wilkerson: “John Mearsheimer thinks it’s all Israel’s fault ultimately. I mean, our fault for letting Israel do it, but nonetheless, Israel’s fault. I think it’s bigger than that. I think it’s more profound than that.
“Yeah, I give you that Israel owns the Congress, and they own lots of other aspects of our life, so many aspects now that I think Americans are actually revolted as they’re finding out how much they own, and that’s healthy. But I don’t think it’s all that. I think it’s imperial hubris, too.
“I saw that hubris up close and personal when the Cold War ended, and HW Bush got beaten and driven out of the White House by a huge coalition backed and funded by Israel. But nonetheless, we’ve just been off our rockers since that time. It’s almost as if the victory in the Cold War made us demented. And that’s so strange because it wasn’t a victory. Gorbachev gave us the Soviet Union. We didn’t take it.”
