Iran is being asked to play a role written for all disobedient nations.
Be isolated.
Be caricatured.
Be struck.
Be mourned by no one respectable.
Be made into an example.
But examples can reverse.
Sometimes the nation chosen for humiliation becomes the site where the imperial story finally breaks.
Sometimes the one they meant to bury becomes the voice that teaches the world how to hear domination again.
That is why this war matters.
Because what is being contested is not only power.
It is perception.
And perception, once corrected, is very difficult to recolonize.
