Araghchi on NBC: "We are attacking American bases in an act of self-defense. We cannot just sit and watch as they attack us." Then: "We are ready for de-escalation, but the aggression should be stopped first, and then there is the possibility of talks." Arab states hosting US bases that coordinate attacks on Iran aren't "neutral territory." They're military infrastructure. Iran's strikes on those sites aren't "regional escalation"—they're lawful counter-targeting under international humanitarian law. When the UN equates aggressor with defender, it doesn't uphold the Charter—it empties it. Sovereign nations don't negotiate at gunpoint. They defend—and the UN Charter guarantees that right.
