In a recent interview, US author and political scientist Norman Finkelstein stated that the October 7 operation was comparable to Nat Turner’s slave rebellion. Finkelstein, the son of Holocaust survivors, has long described the Gaza Strip as a “concentration camp,” arguing that Palestinians have been left with no choice but to die as slaves.
Finkelstein has spent decades studying Palestine’s political, historical, and social realities. While Western narratives have demanded condemnation, he has consistently insisted on providing the broader context in which events in Gaza over the past 20 years have unfolded.
Speaking on this, Finkelstein said, “There was a period when Israel literally calibrated the number of calories each Gazan needed just above the starvation level, what you might call ‘starvation plus’, and did not allow any food beyond that.”
