Egypt condemns statements by the U.S. Ambassador to Israel and reaffirms the constants of its position on the Palestinian cause
The Arab Republic of Egypt condemns the statements attributed to Mike Huckabee, the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, in a television interview, which included claims regarding Israel’s entitlement to lands belonging to Arab states. Egypt considers these remarks a blatant violation of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.
Egypt also expresses its surprise at the issuance of these statements, which contradict the vision presented by U.S. President Donald Trump and the twenty related points aimed at ending the war in the Gaza Strip, as well as the outcomes of the Peace Council held in Washington on February 19, 2026.
Egypt reaffirms that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories or any other Arab lands, stressing its firm rejection of any attempts to annex the West Bank or separate it from the Gaza Strip, as well as rejecting the expansion of settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
