Even as an Iranian who grew up in England most of his life, it took me until last year to see why the current form of governance is the correct one for Iran and after the 12 day war, I'm sure most people inside the country feel the same.
The whole thing becomes much more interesting when you realise the Shah warned against the Jewish lobby three years before being removed, as the British were hoping to replace him with his son (as they still are!!! 
), but he himself was put in place by the British to replace his dad, who himself was helped on his coup by the British to replace the Qajar dynasty who had handed over training of their army to the British!
