CHILDREN INDOCTRINATED FOR ISRAEL ON AMERICAN SOIL?
Til Kingdom Come, directed by Maya Zinshtein, examines the deep alliance between segments of American evangelical Christianity and the Israeli state.
In one revealing segment, a private Christian school in the U.S. teaches children that supporting Israel is not a political stance — it is a divine command. Students are encouraged to raise money for Israel and are explicitly told: “Their people, the Jews are better than all of us. They’re better than all of us, and you need to accept that.”
Children are instructed to bring in loose change from home so it can be cashed in and sent to organisations supporting Israel. One speaker openly states, “This is where with the kids, where we start our indoctrination.” Students are taught that every nation that blesses Israel is blessed by God, and every nation that opposes it faces divine opposition.
When scripture is used to shield political power from scrutiny, belief turns into ideology. When children are taught that questioning a government equals defying God — and that one people are “better than all of us” — that is not faith formation, it is indoctrination.
The film also questions the scale of influence Israel holds over segments of American evangelicalism, and the disturbing effect that theology has on millions of Americans shaped by it.
