Translation of a tweet written from inside Iran:
“One inevitably comes to think that a segment of the Iranian diaspora is after blood. They do not live in this geography. They do not understand what it means to hear the sound of a motorbike in an alley and mistake it for gunfire, or what it means to wake up in the middle of the night fearing an attack (fearing war).
They prefer corpses to citizens who speak up and oppose violence and war, or who refuse to beat their chests beneath the banner of royal despotism. A good Iranian, in their view, is a dead Iranian. They see us as meat placed in front of the cannon, as the “reasonable cost” required to reach an outcome. This is their entire worldview. The binoculars through which they look at Iran.”
