They’re terrified, but they’re trying so hard to pretend they’re not. Every paragraph is basically: “We’re not scared. We’re not scared. We’ve been doing this for decades!! China’s data is theoretical!! Ours is… classified!!! Stop asking!!!” The funniest part? When China finds structural flaws in a US$203B bomber using pure math, the Western media response isn’t: “Wow, that’s impressive.” It’s: “N-no no, that doesn’t count because our real data is secret, okay?? We’re still the best, trust us .” A whole essay of: “Please don’t panic. Please don’t panic. Please don’t panic.” But the panic is the only honest part.
