And no, it did not begin in 1979 but way before, even before the 1953 coup instigated by the Brits and staged and carried out by the US/CIA.
It is not just Iran's resources they have been after but also its strategic location and its rich history and Mystical teachings.
Who stands to benefit from the destruction of such heritage?
Who do you really think brought the Shah down? Or... who do you think dropped their support for the Shah? At a time (mid 70s) when he openly and boldly spoke about a prosperous Iran set to surpass England in a dcade, AIPAC's exorbitant influence on American politicians, ... ???
And who flew in a clergy from France to be in charge afterward?
