Does anyone recall how this person's father, the Shah of Iran -- installed by the CIA and long backed by the US -- treated anti-government protesters and dissidents?

Yes, we do. The Shah ruled over a country that had the “highest rate of death penalties in the world, no valid system of civilian courts and a history of torture” which was “beyond belief”. It was a society in which “the entire population was subjected to a constant, all-pervasive terror”, according to Amnesty International. (Martin Ennals, Secretary General of Amnesty International, cited in an Amnesty Publication, Matchbox, Autumn 1976)

Does anyone recall how this person's father, the Shah of Iran -- installed by the CIA and long backed by the US -- treated anti-government protesters and dissidents? Were they like indiscriminately gunned down in the street and thrown into torture dungeons? x.com/CBSNews/status…
