This breach is not real and it will be quickly mended the minute doing so, benefits the Western oligarchy. Currently the oligarchy benefits from the spectacle of a split, but we should not be fooled by such theater which allows the European elite to pretend that they oppose Trump's illiberal imperialism while it justifies their rollback of policies beneficial to the working class.
Without this pretend breach, Western European elites could not distance themselves from Trump's illiberalism and they could not justify replacing their welfare states with military keynesianism.
Similar theater played out at the end of the Cold War where the entirety of the Western ruling establishment pretended that they were interested in peaceful coexistence, based on principles of respect for sovereignty, collective security, and the rule of law as spelled out in the UN Charter. This charade was so effective that it convinced the traitorous "leaders" of the Soviet Union to dismantle their union against the objections of the overwhelming majority.
Today, we should be equally skepticle of the narrative that sells "Trump as a rogue actor" who is driving a wedge between the US and Europe because of his brazen imperialism that is forcing Europe to denounce the US and end their welfare state in favor of militarization.
This is an all to convenient pretext for the ownership class to engage in the illiberal imperialist policies that they all support but that contadict their pretend liberal values. They are hoping that they can simultaneously scapegoat Trump for all the illiberal aggression that they know is necessary, while they use Trump's agression to justify re-arming their own societies.
We are going to be watching in real time, how they implement this strategy but I expect Trump to engage in some very big and very illiberal military adventurism, before he leaves office. Then, once Trump has done what the oligarchs want done, they will blame Trump for what he did and run propaganda and politicians that denounce his policies.||
