As the death knell of American hegemony is seemingly rung loud by western leaders today, and the liberal facade of a rules based international order is finally being buried; I can't help but think that we would not have arrived at this moment without the events of Al Aqsa Flood.
It opened a portal towards a new world— causing ripples through the fabric of the old world order by confronting the most vital colonial outpost in the American imperialist apparatus. Nothing has been the same since, nothing will ever be as it once was. There is no going back. This struggle that we have since been thrown into, will now define the collective future we birth for ourselves.
It laid bare the brutality of the invisibilized violence, the wicked depravity, and layers of moral bankruptcy and rot at every level through which this western hegemony was built and sustained. That old order is now crumbling before our very eyes.
