The United States cast the sole NO vote on two UN General Assembly resolutions today: one on protecting humanitarian and United Nations personnel, and another on international cooperation during natural disasters. The U.S. mission said it opposed both because it saw the texts as “performative” and ideological, objecting to references to gender, sexual and reproductive health, climate change, and sustainable development.
