Israeli media is reporting "hostility" among Syrian officers marching to celebrate the oneyear anniversary of Assad's fall; Lebanese insistence on Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon; Turkish insistence on being part of the Gaza stabilization force. When Israel does not get exactly what it wants, its "partners" are just ornery in obnoxious fashion.
But that is the big thing occurring right now, before our very eyes - Israel is not simply getting its way. Israel is encountering regional resistance, and Israel appears to be out of options. All of Israel's reactions, lethal and criminal as they are, seem incapable of addressing the issues that "trouble" Israel. It is taking time but it is also clear that Trump doesn't really care and that his team is not snapping up whatever Israel feels like serving. Israel is on the outs.
There is, simultaneously, no doubt that Israel appears to be deepening its own grave. It continues to kill and destroy, as well as cheat and starve. Israel has not grown less genocidal. Still, its options on Gaza are shrinking rapidly. Settlers and the IDF are going wild in the West Bank, but that is seen and registered. Netanyahu will not be visiting Europe soon. The ICC will investigate Netanyahu and Galant. The ICJ will deliver a decision. Israel's criminal behavior towards these institutions is hastening the day of reckoning.
