Tucker Carlson spoke with international attorney Bob Amsterdam, who represents Christians persecuted around the world and has worked in Nigeria for over 50 years. “The Nigerians have no idea where this is coming from,” Amsterdam said. “There are 230 million Nigerians who long for a strong relationship with the United States… and we ignore them until we condemn them for a genocide that is absolutely not a genocide.”
“Let’s be clear: President Tinubu’s wife is a Christian pastor. This is not targeted at Christians. There are probably an equal or more number of Muslim deaths,” he said.
Amsterdam said Nigeria’s leadership “is richly populated by Christians,” and the violence is “tribal and regional, not a government campaign against Christians,” as Trump has claimed. He blamed the deaths and chaos on weapons flooding in after Libya’s collapse and on Tuareg militias armed by France.
Carlson added that the sudden focus on Nigeria looks like “coordinated propaganda meant to distract U.S. Christians” from persecution of churches elsewhere in the world.
