The smear helped the Starmer government justify declaring Palestine Action a terrorist group – the first time in British history a direct-action group has been proscribed.
The Met has wasted many millions of pounds in public funds arresting pensioners for holding signs in support of Palestine Action's efforts to disrupt the supply of weapons from Britain to Israel.
