"We’ve been fed a lie. We are running out of time."
Pavel Durov, Telegram founder, has posted a stunning birthday message, sounding the alarm on the rapid collapse of Internet freedom across the West.
This comes shortly after he revealed that the EU pressured him to help rig Moldova’s elections, which he refused.
“A dark, dystopian world is approaching fast — while we’re asleep. Our generation risks going down in history as the last one that had freedoms — and allowed them to be taken away.”
Durov cites digital IDs in the UK, mass message scanning in the EU, online speech prosecutions in Germany and the UK, and criminal investigations in France, warning that our generation risks being remembered as the one that allowed freedom to be taken away.
His message lands at a time when Western states are fusing censorship, surveillance, and regulation into a single architecture of control and punishing those who resist.https://x.com/DD_Geopolitics/status/1976727743196021034
