Which is pretty rich considering it's a reaction to Trump literally starting starting a trade war against the entire planet.
The truth is that the immense majority of the world is cheering China here. From what I've been hearing, that's even the case for the average European, who wishes their leaders could respond the way China does instead of having to submit and be humiliated.
China is actually doing the world a favor here by enforcing consequences that never existed before. Far from "attacking the world", China is bringing accountability where there was impunity.
Now I understand that it's an unusual feeling for the US to be given a taste of its own medicine from an actual strong power for the first time in decades.
But the lesson here isn't to resort to the very same bullying and bad McCarthyist propaganda that led to the current situation. Quite the contrary, when you've dug yourself into a hole, stop digging and start reflecting on the fact that maybe, just maybe, this whole *actual* attack on the whole world wasn't such a brilliant idea after all...
