The GMC is not learning. They are refusing to stop being the arm of the ‘israeli’ lobby that wants to snatch moral doctors away from the British public.
The 'israel' lobby has forced my medical regulator to refer me to a second hearing because they can't accept the ground made at the first one. The arguments I won shatter their narrative. That's why I'm releasing my entire statement to the panel tomorrow. Until then, here is my conclusion:
Conclusion
The reason I am sitting before you today is the result of almost two years of political persecution from the UK pro-‘israel’ and jewish supremacist lobby.
They want you to think that I am a hateful person. That I am somehow a danger. That I am not worthy of a medical licence and the ability to treat and care for my fellow British people.
I argue that the exact reasons that caused them to attack me, complain about me, defame me in the papers and ultimately have my own medical regulator argue their case here today are the polar opposite of this. It is because my stance, my voice, and my conviction in justice, morality, humanity, and the liberation of my oppressed and courageous Palestinian people have not wavered despite all of their attempts.
And let us not minimise what they have put me through:
· It is not easy to be defamed.
· It is not easy to receive constant rape and death threats.
· It is not minor to fear for the safety of my family; my mother and my little brother.
· It is not easy to have to call the police or publicly declare I am not suicidal because I genuinely fear for my life.
Because those who support a genocide cannot be trusted to stop at only saying that they are ‘disappointed’ that I am ‘still breathing’.
It is however totally minor when compared to the horrors we are witnessing, every second in Gaza. It is minor compared to one Palestinian child rattled into complete shock from a single IOF bomb dropping nearby or a mother trapped under the rubble of her own home, screaming out for anyone to rescue her children first, before they try to save her.
I should not be here. I was here two months ago supporting my good friend, and outstanding consultant neurologist Dr Rehiana Ali. Arguments we made today resonate with many she made in this exact room. The GMC is not learning. They are refusing to stop being the arm of the ‘israeli’ lobby that wants to snatch moral doctors away from the British public.
• Maybe it is fear of being smeared.
• Maybe it is pressure from our government, including Health Sec Streeting, who is funded by the ‘israel’ lobby.
• Maybe it’s just a way for the GMC to exercise institutional discrimination and bias while hiding behind these lobby groups.
• Or maybe the GMC itself is compromised by the same people who have been attacking us for two years.
I have been smeared and pressured, but I am here today because I refuse to forgo my ethical code and my valid, legitimate, legal, and moral stance against the worst crimes we have ever witnessed.
There is no valid excuse for the GMC’s conduct.
Under the terms of the Genocide Convention, individual culpability exists. Therefore, we cannot absolve ourselves of the duty and responsibility to help stop a genocide. This obligation extends to institutions like the GMC and the MPTS. To sanction doctors for trying to prevent a genocide is not merely complicity or a stain on the MPTS's moral character; it constitutes active participation in the genocide itself.
The GMC should not be policing speech. It is clearly outside the GMC’s remit. How many doctors must sit here and fight to keep their licence because the GMC wants to extend its regulation to our freedom of expression and speech? I say no more. Let it end with me. Let those doctors who are afraid of losing their job, income, and reputation be able to speak. Let them fight alongside us to end this Holocaust.
That is how we gain the public trust. That’s what is truly in the public interest.
Thank you and Free Palestine.
