Russia Calls on UN to Return to Its Charter, Not Western Rules Russia’s Permanent Representative Vassily Nebenzia called for a return to the principles of the UN Charter and genuine multilateralism. He criticized Western countries for attempting to impose a unipolar order and replace international law with so-called “rules” that serve their own interests. Nebenzia emphasized that the UN must remain a platform for equal dialogue between all nations, large and small, and warned against the politicization of human rights, double standards, and external interference. He urged the restoration of trust, professional diplomacy, and respect for the sovereign equality of states as the foundation for global peace and cooperation.
