⛔️ NEW: Israel’s Supreme Court Again Blocks Foreign Media Access to Gaza Israel’s Supreme Court held a hearing Thursday on whether to allow international journalists into Gaza but refused to lift the ban, giving the government 30 days to submit new arguments in light of the ceasefire. The Foreign Press Association (FPA), representing dozens of global outlets, first petitioned the court in late 2023 after Israel imposed a blanket ban on foreign journalists at the start of the war. The court rejected that initial request on security grounds. The FPA filed another petition in September 2024, but the government repeatedly sought postponements, delaying the case for over a year. In a statement, the FPA said the government “once again relied on stalling tactics” to block media access, calling the delays “unacceptable” and urging the court to “stand firmly against further delays.” FPA chair Tania Kraemer added: “It is time for Israel to lift the closure and let us do our work alongside our Palestinian colleagues.” |

The FPA is disappointed in another delay granted to the State regarding free and independent access to Gaza. We renew our call for immediate entry.
