JUST IN: According to Kan Hebrew, as reported this evening, Israeli officials have informed the Americans of the areas where Israel intends to remain for the coming years, which are:
- The buffer zone surrounding the Gaza Strip.
- The Philadelphi Corridor along the border with Egypt.
- Hill 70 (known as Al-Muntar Hill), a 70-meter-high elevation in the Shuja’iyya area that provides fire control and observation over wide areas in the northern part of the Strip, including Gaza City, Shuja’iyya, Al-Zaytoun, and Jabalia, as well as over Israeli settlements such as Nahal Oz, Kfar Aza, and Mefalsim.
Israel says the Americans understand the Israeli need to remain in these locations.
