Israel is using proxies within Gaza to fight Palestinian resistance. Waiting for the emergence of the narrative that anti-Hamas proxies are worthy of supporting, as proof of Palestinian “discontent” with Hamas. Israel has long used proxies in Gaza - the gangs that stole aid were protected and by them - and this particular strategy (a divide and conquer) has been employed in the same way for decades elsewhere.
The only thing is that these groups don’t have support in Gaza - the purpose thus is probably to keep Hamas fighters engaged and unable to rest during this current “de-escalation”.
