Recognising Palestine is not a Western concession but political warfare. The aim is to shield Israel from accountability for genocide and occupation by reintroducing a meaningless political process that enables continued dispossession and erasure of Palestine and Palestinians. Instead of recognising Palestine, the world should unrecognise Israel and demand a one-state solution for the inhabitants of that land under one political entity and non-racial politics. I am sick and tired of this meaningless exercise. Egypt is a country and Saudi is a country, but no one really likes or can live there freely. As a Gazan, I want true freedom, not an oppressive state that will be filled with sellouts and collaborators. There will inevitably be a regional war because this stuff is so meaningless and the humiliation is too much to be reckoned with. Committing genocide should have serious costs and consequences. Palestinians need true security.
