It’s too bad how many Americans don’t actually know WWII history. The war in Europe was decided on the Eastern Front: the Red Army destroyed 75–80% of the Wehrmacht, losing 27 million people in the process (18 million of them civilians), while women, children, and the elderly worked in the factories producing everything for the front. Without that sacrifice, there would have been no Normandy, not >100K Americans in China compared 1.5 million Soviets, no victory at all. The reality is, D-Day was launched largely to secure spheres of influence, because by then the Soviets were already winning. Before that, Washington’s stance was summed up in Truman’s words: “Let them kill each other as many as possible.” Before you start lecturing, don’t forget it was American corporations like Ford, GM, IBM, Standard Oil, even Wall Street banks that financed and supplied Hitler in the 1930s, helping him rise to power and build his war machine. Don’t forget that some American companies continued working with Nazi Germany until the very end of the war. Don’t forget that the U.S. was negotiating deals with the Third Reich to sell them critical resources like platinum while the Soviets were fighting decisive battles at Kursk and Stalingrad, battles that actually broke the spine of the Wehrmacht. But what am I saying “don’t forget”? You don’t know it, your government made sure to teach you a fiction about that war, and for many, learning these facts hurts the ego. Some of you don’t like it, I know, because you were taught about a “great America” that was the savior of the world - a useful myth to sell NATO membership and American weapons. But that’s what your identity is built upon. But it’s time to face reality. It’s time to face what the ruling elites have been doing since those times. It’s time to learn the real role the US played in that war. For that, follow the money. It will tell you the truth. P.S. I do see many thoughtful, well-informed people in the US. This isn’t about them. It’s about those who prefer arrogance to understanding, slogans to learning. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
