Former Gaza Brigade Commander Yisrael Ze’ev has detonated another crack in the façade, accusing Netanyahu of paralysis, tethered entirely to Trump’s approval before making any move.
According to Ze’ev, the government is marching into a “deadly step” in Gaza, the pointless occupation of booby-trapped concrete fortifications, for no strategic gain other than to please Washington.
He paints a leadership vacuum: no goals, no strategy, no political skill, with Netanyahu hiding behind army initiatives and entertaining delusions of a decisive Hamas “elimination” akin to what happened in Iran, despite knowing it’s impossible.
In Ze’ev’s view, Israel is walking straight into a trap, with extremists like Smotrich steering the Prime Minister, threatening the unity and morale of the army. The appointment of Chief of Staff Zamir as point man for what he calls a “pre-known failure” seals the indictment.
From the outside, this reads less like a war cabinet and more like a suicide pact, political survival bought at the cost of soldiers’ lives, with Gaza’s resistance watching the trap close exactly as intended.
