🇨🇴🇵🇸 BREAKING: The Palestinian NGO Network, the largest coalition of Palestinian civil society groups, has endorsed Colombian President Gustavo Petro’s call to activate the UN General Assembly’s “Uniting for Peace” mechanism to authorize a multilateral armed force to protect Palestinians. In a statement, the network said Gaza’s humanitarian situation has reached “unprecedented” collapse, with near-total destruction of the health system, famine spreading, and civilians under relentless bombardment “with no safe place.” It highlighted recent Israeli strikes on the Palestinian Medical Relief Society and the Gaza Community Mental Health Program, calling them “calculated war crimes” aimed at breaking Palestinian resilience. The statement urged UN member states to back President Petro’s initiative as a way to bypass Security Council paralysis and ensure: ➤ A permanent ceasefire and exchange of captives ➤ Free flow of aid to Gaza ➤ Accountability for Israeli war crimes ➤ International protection for Palestinians In his speech, Petro said, “words are no longer enough” and called for a force “to defend the lives of the Palestinian people.”
