Chabad’s Beit Din in New York, led by Rabbi Yitzchak Yehuda Yeruslavsky and Rabbi Avraham Osdoba, has dropped a hammer on Israel’s draft machine. In a public psak halacha [formal religious legal ruling], they’ve ordered all Chabad youth to refuse IDF service, calling today’s army a danger to Jewish souls and accusing the state of waging war on Torah itself.
