So the US told China to stop buying Russian oil otherwise they would charge a 100% tariff. China said we will continue to exercise our sovereign right and buy Russian oil.
Washington then insisted that they would apply this additional tariff on China. China replied that if you want to impose additional taxes on US importers, sellers and consumers that would be your right and your choice.
So the naked emperor threatened China who ignored them and the US response was to punish the US people instead with additional taxes whilst insisting China is paying for this when it isn't.
