550 ex-generals, Mossad & Shin Bet officials urge Trump to end Gaza war
A letter from Commanders for Israel’s Security, signed by top ex-officials including former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo, Shin Bet heads Ami Ayalon and Adam Raz, and Deputy IDF Chief Matan Vilnai, was delivered to President Trump on August 2, 2025:
“The IDF has already achieved what could be accomplished by force: dismantling Hamas’ formations and rule. The third objective, bringing the hostages home, can only be done through a deal.”
They declare Hamas no longer poses a strategic threat to Israel and demand an end to the war:
“Our hostages can’t wait.”
The letter bluntly accuses Netanyahu’s government of dragging the war beyond its military utility, and calls on Trump to pressure Israel into cutting a deal.
“Your credibility with the Israeli public can help steer Netanyahu in the right direction: end the war, return the hostages, and reduce suffering.”
