NEW: Writers Against the War on Gaza (WAWOG) has released a dossier documenting The New York Times’ material and ideological ties to Israel. The report identifies nearly two dozen current and former staff with affiliations to pro-Israel think tanks, the Israeli military, and the intelligence establishment.
WAWOG says senior Times figures are “structurally incentivized to run cover for war criminals,” while newsroom policies suppress language like “genocide,” “ethnic cleansing,” and even “Palestine.” The report also highlights a double standard in newsroom neutrality, where pro-Israel views are tolerated, but dissent is punished.
The Times, it argues, has “led and enabled a culture of genocide denialism,” shaping public discourse to “amplify Zionist narratives” and conceal U.S. and Israeli war crimes.
WAWOG calls on the public to “boycott, divest, and unsubscribe” from what it calls the paper of “criminal record.”
