Trump's speech was a confession of total submission. Strip away the fanfare and what’s left is a man on stage openly declaring that the United States waged a full-spectrum airstrike campaign to eliminate a “threat to Israel.”

Trump's speech was a confession of total submission. Strip away the fanfare and what’s left is a man on stage openly declaring that the United States waged a full-spectrum airstrike campaign to eliminate a “threat to Israel.” He said they “worked as a team like perhaps no team has ever worked before”, but who is “we,” exactly? Because if this was a sovereign U.S. operation, it wouldn’t need to be framed as a partnership. It wouldn’t need to be padded with evangelical praise, divine invocations, or dripping gratitude to the Israeli military. Every sentence was soaked in fealty. Every target obliterated on behalf of a foreign priority. The operation may have been American in payload, but in spirit, it was unmistakably outsourced. It was deliverance, the host fulfilling the will of the parasite. To top it off: the altar call. “God bless Israel.” First, not second, not third, first. Like clockwork.
