NEWS: Israel’s government, under international war crimes fugitive PM Benjamin Netanyahu, is facing allegations from former Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman and other sources of arming criminal gangs in Gaza – specifically the Abu Shabab clan – to undermine Hamas’s control.
These groups have been accused of looting humanitarian aid convoys and have roots in aid theft and other criminal activities.
Palestinian analyst Muhammad Shehada writes:
“This gang is made up of criminals (e.g. murderers, drug dealers) who escaped or were released on parole from Gazan prisons after Oct 7.
The IDF recruited them with a promise of protection, money, weapons, and support — basically telling them they could become kings if they collaborate.”
