Iran has formally urged the UN Security Council to condemn the U.S. airstrikes on its nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—carried out on June 21 in coordination with Israel.

NEW: Iran has formally urged the UN Security Council to condemn the U.S. airstrikes on its nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—carried out on June 21 in coordination with Israel. In a letter from its UN ambassador, Iran called the attacks unprovoked, unlawful, and a violation of the UN Charter, the IAEA statute, and the Non-Proliferation Treaty. Tehran demanded an emergency session and said the U.S. must be held fully accountable for what it described as “savage and criminal” aggression.
