have no interest in participating in an interview where I am repeatedly informed by the presenter what "Israel says", as if the statements of a government whose claims have consistently proven false are gospel truth.

Dear Mouin, I hope you're well. BBC’s World Service programme, Newsday, would like to invite you for a brief interview to discuss the latest developments in Gaza. In particular, we’re following a report that Palestinians in Gaza have once again come under fire while heading to an aid distribution site run by the US- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. Witnesses say this is the first time the attackers appeared to be Palestinian gunmen allied with the IDF. Could you shed some light on this? We’d also like to ask about reports that Israel has been supplying weapons to a clan in Gaza led by a man named Yasser Abu Shabab. The interview will be pre-recorded tonight at 03:30 London time / 22:30 New York time, and we’d connect via WhatsApp call. Are you available? Best regards, X Dear X, Thank you for your message and invitation. I have no interest in participating in an interview where I am repeatedly informed by the presenter what "Israel says", as if the statements of a government whose claims have consistently proven false are gospel truth. Nor do I have any interest in participating in a discussion where much if not most of the interview is devoted to the presenter repeating Israeli talking points rather than the guest responding to the presenter's questions. It is one thing for a presenter to challenge a guest's views and statements, even aggressively so, but quite another for a presenter to consistently serve as a surrogate for a discredited, genocidal government that is known for its serial falsehoods. Please additionally note that I am unavailable for pre-recorded interviews, given the very real prospect that BBC management will decide not to air it, or that my statements will be edited beyond recognition. I have in the past cooperated extensively with the BBC, including in its live coverage of major events, and consistently found your journalists and reporters to be of the highest professional standard. As you are no doubt aware, I am far from alone in my profound dismay at how the BBC's reputation has been wilfully and recklessly trashed by its management in order to make the world safe for genocide. Best regards, Mouin
