Humanitarian Coordinator: GHF Will Leave Gaza, Aid Model ‘Increases Our Suffering’
➤ After 90 days of forced starvation, “We have here 2.5 million people still waiting for their main meal to stay alive,” Eyad Amawi, a relief coordinator in Central Gaza, told Drop Site News.
Amawi, who works with NGOs to coordinate aid, said Boston Consulting Group’s exit from the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) signals that “the GHF… will leave Gaza soon.” He said the group realizes their model is not cut out to serve the needs of a starved and besieged population or expand to meet the scale of the crisis. GHF’s public claims that they will “continue supporting Gaza,” Amawi said, are “fake news.”
Without hundreds of distribution centers, Amawi warned, aid cannot be distributed properly. GHF currently operates only four hubs.
