A ceasefire in Gaza is now possible for a few reasons:
- 75 percent of Israel public wants to see an end to the war in return for freeing all the captives
- the Israeli military says there are no more targets to bomb - basically, all destroyed
- Netanyahu feeling smug as if a war hero, can now afford it, in fact he needs it for holding an election
- the opposition will provide him with support if the more fanatic ministers walk out
- Trump now is seeking a ceasefire, after hitting Iran
- Western leaders are too embarrassed by their complicity in the genocide and would want to see an end to the war
- Hamas wants a ceasefire badly and probably need not give up on its a redline- end of war.
