After jewish revolutionaries helped lead uprisings against the Russian Empire in 1881, 1905 & 1917, the Russians conducted pogroms resulting in ~2.5 million jews fleeing Russia. They mainly went to the USA, UK, Germany, Argentina & Palestine as most other countries were either inhospitable to jews or simply wouldn't let them in.
Let's see how these innocent fugitives expressed their appreciation to their generous new home countries:
