Using misremembered scripture in order to just the worst crime on earth.
Gideon didn’t have chariots when fighting the Midianites, as they are a symbol of imperial power. The Assyrians had chariots, Pharaoh and Caesar had chariots, and the Israelites were outnumbered. This is the exact story in reverse.
Also Gideon was guilty of false worship.
