Yes, they are coming for the rights of all of us. One by one, they are dismantling free speech, free assembly, due process, the prohibition of genocide, your social security, your healthcare, your education. Millions are being surveilled, threatened, attacked, smeared, fired, expelled, arrested, locked away, deported. But this is not the time for cowering in fearful silence. The best shield we have against the rising drumbeat of fascism is solidarity. This is the time to stand up and stand together. Let every church, every mosque, every synagogue, every labor union, every community organization, every student group, every lawyer, every organizer, and every decent person across the political spectrum rise up together to draw an unbreakable line around our human rights. Either this will be the definitive season of resistance, or it will be the beginning of a long season of darkness.
