This is AIPAC's take on its power. Perhaps they are exaggerating a little (See for details) . Nevertheless they spent over $100 million in the 2024 election cycle. That's on top of their $83 million budget for 2023.
But in reality , the power of AIPAC is only a tiny sliver of the power wielded by the Israel lobby (those groups dedicated to lobbying for Israel and attempting to influence US foreign and domestic policy). One estimate of their spending per annum in 2020 was that it was more than $6 billion.
But even that pales beside the additional power of the much wider and more significant Zionist movement, which is, at minimum, twice as large as the figures above suggest. Most Zionist groups are not listed in this data - for example only 13 of the 46 members of the American Zionist Movement are in the data and 33 are not. In addition, only 2, of the officially claimed 1,274, branches of the genocidal Zionist cult Chabad Lubavitch are included in that data.
Those figures leave out lobby spend declared by Foreign Agents of the Zionist regime ($11.7 million last year) and lobby spend by Israeli firms ($5 million last year - including from arms firm Elbit and the phone hackers Cellebrite).
Perhaps most important it leaves out the direct infiltration of both the Zionist movement and the regime itself (including via Mossad and Unit 8200) into US political, cultural, financial and administrative architecture.
This is the movement that is on a daily basis attempting to decide what is the 'American interest'. The more the 'American interest' is determined by genocidal foreign power, the less will the actual interests of the American people figure.
