Israeli captain: ‘We have to stop aid if we want to win’
An Israeli soldier in military clothing has said the the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF)
must stop all food aid into Gaza in order to win, essentially calling for the starvation
of up 1.1 million in Gaza who are currently at risk of famine (according to Oxfam).
The man was identified by Palestinian journalist Younis Tirawi as a captain in the
Israeli army called Ayreh Weinstock. Although army captains aren't in charge of
the military's actions, this is one of many examples that could be used to show how
genocidal rhetoric is commonplace in the Israeli military, and could be used as
part of upcoming international court cases against Israel and senior figures
in the government and military.
