hear Prof. Rashid Khalidi, Prof. of Arab Studies at Columbia University and author of ‘The Hundred Years' War on Palestine’, analyse the developing and worsening situation between Israel and Hamas. Was the UN Secretary General right when he said the Hamas attack “did not happen in a vacuum”? If he was, why has this history been forgotten or ignored by the West? Doesn’t this mean that if Israel has the right to self-defence against Hamas the Palestinian people also have a right to resist colonial occupation and fight back? How should we understand Hamas? Is it an idea or an organization or both? Was its popularity in Gaza declining before 7/10? But now, after Israeli airstrikes and the impending ground invasion, could that be significantly reversed? Does that mean Israel could end up with a far worse problem than it faced 20 days ago?
