The British Are About to Revolt
British Pubs say 70% of them will be forced to close by soaring energy prices
The price of a pint of beer is so high that pubs can’t raise beer prices to pay their soaring energy bills resulting from US sanctions on Russian energy.
When I was a student at Oxford a pint of the best bitter was “one and ten,” which was one shilling, ten pence. As there were 12 pennies in a shilling and 20 shillings in the pound, one pound was drinking money for the week. It would provide a weekly supply of 11 pints. As one UK pound exchanged for $2.80, beer was 25 US cents a pint. Today one UK pound won’t buy you one half-pint.
What I remember about the English is that unless they had a Jaguar or an Aston Martin, their local pub was the closest thing to their hearts. One wonders how the loss of their pubs so that their American puppet government can comply with Washington’s “Russian sanctions” that enrich Russia and impoverish the UK and EU with high energy prices will pan out.
The British population is watered down with immigrant-invaders and the intellectual class has gone stupidly woke, but there might be more of the English people left than the dumbshit government realizes.
