I believe that you’re already familiar with the power of text-to-image AI. Tools like DALL-E and Google’s text-to-image AI turn any random text into illustrations. They try hard to make it as realistic as possible, but more often than not, the resulting images are bizarre.

So, have you ever thought about what happens when you put song lyrics into a tool like this? Jason Scott did. He took lyrics of a song about data encryption (how appropriate), let AI turn them into images and made everything into a video. The result – pure, unrefined nightmare-material that. But if you’re anything like me – you’re going to absolutely love it!

Jason is an internet archivist, historian, filmmaker, and the owner of Textfiles.com.  He created this video for MC Frontalot’s song Secrets From The Future from 2007 with the help of Midjourney text-to-image AI. It appears that MC Frontalot himself loved the resulting video, so who am I not to like it?

The images in this video reminded me of weird creations I made with Dream by WOMBO. Only they’re even weirder, darker, more bizarre, and I totally like that. Of course, I immediately wanted to try Midjourney with song lyrics, especially of those songs I never quite understood. However, since it’s a new research lab, I needed to apply for Beta of its text-to-image program. You can give it a shot as well, just note that you’ll need Discord and Twitter accounts. Keep your fingers crossed for me, and I’ll do the same for you, I promise!
