Explosions cause damage across city

by Jason Ditz

On Tuesday, Saudi warplanes attacked three military camps across the Yemeni capital of Sanaa. In all three strikes, the attack destroyed radio antenna at the respective camps.

Why these would be a primary target is unclear, but the strikes hit the antennas, causing explosions which did damage around the city, mainly shattering windows in residential neighborhoods near the bases.

This meant a fair bit of damage spread around the city, but no real casualties, apart from incidental injuries when the windows were shattered by the explosions. Those numbers are not generally released.

Saudi Arabia has been attacking Sanaa at a growing clip in recent weeks, nominally retaliation for the Houthis firing missiles into Saudi and UAE territories. In reality, the Saudis were already carrying out strikes before the cross-border Houthi fire, and it merely became the latest excuse for an ever-escalating war.
