Trump Uses 9/11 to Vow to Hit Taliban ‘Harder Than Ever’
Vows 'power the likes of which the US has never used before'

Speaking at the Pentagon at the 9/11 anniversary event, President Trump focused heavily on the ongoing war against the Taliban, saying that the US has hit them harder than they’ve ever been hit before.
These comments come just days after President Trump disavowed the US-Taliban peace process in Afghanistan and says that instead the US will “use power, the likes of which the United States has never used before.“
While 9/11 anniversary comments from top US officials have never shied away from talk of more military bellicosity, Trump seems to be using 9/11 as an excuse to rail against the Taliban because he just happened to scrap peace just a few days prior.
Indeed, Trump was apparently willing to meet the Taliban last weekend, which media critics are calling “9/11 weekend.” If his decision on peace had gone a different way, he might’ve used the same speech to talk up the peace deal finally ending the first post-9/11 war.
