Killing Us Cruelly With Their Greed

Killing Us Cruelly With Their Greed
(Parody of “Killing Me Softly With His Song” by Charles Fox and Norman Gimbel)
We knew they racked up mass wrongs.
We knew their evil guile.
And so we came to hate them.
Cold-blooded like reptiles.
These are savage monsters.
The stranglers of our dreams.
Numb to the pain of our serfdom,
Straining our lives with their schemes.
Killing us cruelly with their greed.
Destroying our whole world with such ease.
Killing us cruelly with their greed.
How many infirm or jobless?
How many lost their homes?
How ravaged is our planet?
Ignored by hearts of stone.
We prayed that they’d learn mercy,
But they just kept on.
Numb to the pain of our serfdom,
Straining our lives with their schemes.
Killing us cruelly with their greed.
Destroying our whole world with such ease.
Killing us cruelly with their greed.
Politicians seemed to see us
In all our dark despair.
And then they looked right through us
As if we just weren’t there.
Letting the rich keep plundering.
Plundering on and on.
Numb to the pain of our serfdom,
Straining our lives with their schemes.
Killing us cruelly with their greed.
Destroying our whole world with such ease.
Killing us cruelly with their greed.
